Photographs taken during September 2003 in Ravenna: Dantesco, the 2003 Dante festival

Sheila in the Dantesco art display A cloister of the former Franciscan monastery displayed a great many art works from all over the world: small metal statues taking their inspiration from the 'Divine Comedy' and medals commemorating Dante
The procession leaves the church trumpeters
The banner of Ravenna leads the procession from the Church after the Dante Mass. I particularly like the two lions sharpening their claws on the same tree. As well as playing a fanfare on leaving the church, they played when they arrived and once during mass.
