Josephine was "free to good home" in the Cambridge Evening News.
I had moved into my first-ever home after leaving university, and
applied for the post of 'cat servant' at once. She was very attached
to her people, accompanying them when they went in the car to visit
friends and relations, travelling on my lap in the front of the car and
eagerly watching out of the window when she wasn't asleep. She expected
to get out whenever the car slowed, so I only got any peace on motorway
trips.
Josephine got used to sitting on my lap while I typed over her during
MUG sessions. Her wish was my command. Alas,
purring to the last, she succumbed to kidney disease after giving me 16
very happy years.
